Hello! My name is Olivia Bahou—though most people just call me Liv :)

I’m a 22-year-old author and illustrator from Toronto, Canada.

As someone who experienced anxiety growing up, I’ve always held close a piece of advice my father gave me: “All your hopes and dreams are on the other side of fear.” It’s a message that helped me face my childhood (and adult!) fears—and one that inspired the title and heart of my debut book. I wrote this story for every child who might be feeling what I once felt, in hopes of encouraging them to move through their fears and follow their dreams with courage.

When I’m not writing or illustrating stories about bravery and perseverance, I’m a student at the University of Toronto studying Architecture and Forest Conservation. I also love spending time outdoors, reading, crocheting, and being with the people I love.
